Pans Labyrinth

I just wanted to to give more an inside into what I love and what kind of films I adore.Capitan despises stepdaughter Ofelia, not least for her love of fairy tales. But deep in the woods, Ofelia has met a wondrous faun, who has given her three tasks to complete to prove her character. If she passes, she will be returned as a princess to her true home deep in the earth. Can she do it? Or will Capitan and the horrors of the real world devour her first?

Growing up my father was always the Captain, I was always told to stop daydreaming and dressing up. Just fabulous

Little More on The Theme

These illustrations in particular have influenced me due to their nature of the actual illustrations themselves. As soon as I saw these illustrtaion I immediately thought of the fantasy films I adore. I thought about the style philosphoy. It gave me an opportunity to research what was important to me as a designer and what I would want my work to convey.

I thought that Iíd begin by researching a little about people born on the same date/month as me. So thus I began to research my starsign, Piseces. I found out some interesting traits that truly related to my personality and my sense of style. I found out that other Pisecians are also fantasists and solitary people. I wanted to bring this into my work and I wanted to use my design to stimulate others into allowing their fantasies and childhood dreams to be activate in their reality. Iíve always had an active imagination and vartious imaginery friends. I thought Iíd base this project on solitude which therefore lets your imagination run wild.

The Theme

"Fantasy mirrors desire and imagination reshapes it", I have again began to think about my philosophy and whilst researching I found this quote which perfectly illustrates my point. Like Theatre de la Mode whom design philosophy is very clear. They don't differ between sexes. I think they do a very good job at this but for my philosophy I would love to exaggerate the female form. I want people to be entertain by my fashions. I want it to be effortless and hyper playful. I think that my demographic would probably appeal to 16-24 year old women, who have an ultra feminine approach to fashion and styling. I know that this would exclude some middle of the row people, but I feel that my personality is far from average and middle of the row.

Frieda's Design Philosophy-Is Glamour and its Pink

We have to think about our design philosphy and what we think our collection or what our fashion brand will represent in the future.
I immediately thought of Heatherette and their promo film for MAC cosmetic.
My fashion philoshopy is have fun, enjoy life. Glitter EVERYTHING , wear make up always...and most important anything Pink is fabulous!

But I really don't want to go through the pink fluffy photoshoot. I want to focus on the other parts of my life. The parts pink can't hide.

This is the ad campaign for their new D&G Anthology unisex fragrance, shot by Mario Testino.

Paul loves Barbie... apparently

I found out about this SUCH a long time ago but I couldn't actually bring myself to write about this. Its all for Barbie's 50th Birthday but I ABSOLUTELY Paul's Boutique and people who wear t. Its always really tacky and cheap looking and the price does not reflect it though.

But purely because its Barbie I have brought a purse but I absolutely hate Paul!

Next Gets Down With The Kids

Next has come up with a new collection aimed at the more youthful against us, "The Runway Collection". The collection is going to hit the stores throughout the autumn and winter. Look magazine featured a peek at the look collection. Although I see what Next is attempting to do with the exposed zips, peplum waist and puffball hems all in a mixture of bold colours and prints, something about it still seems dated. Expose zips don't really appear to me and I am the target audience (the 20 somethings), even Primark has started phrasing them out.

All in all "The Next Runway Collection" kinda remembers me of a what New Look's older, less prettier sister would come up with.

Sorry next your attempt at appealing to this kid has FAILED!!!

Much love,

You're Always Giving Me The Hard Shoulder

The fashion hierarchy as spoken, this autumn winter its all about giving people the hard dramatic shoulder. Balmain's Christophe Decarnin got the ball rolling last year, but now he's got step up a gear. He has titled it up at 45 degree angle . However they are many other styles to choose from some have soft, sweet curves and others jut out SO SO dramatically they look like they require scaffolding support. This is beautifully illustrated by Roksanda Ilincic above. I believe that these structural shoulders give the illusion of a teeny-tiny waist.

I for one am delighted because I have been waiting for a reason to wear shoulder pads!

Thigh High

Flicking though vogue its apparent that boots have reached a dizzy new heights. It seems that everyone's jumped on it from Prada's fishing waders to Stella's punched faux napa design. It has even trickled down to Top Shop, which are the ones that are causing me the headache. I am really undecided about this autumn trend, maybe on slender long legs that appear to go on forever they will obviously look amazing. But being 5"3 and with thick curvy thighs are worried that the flab on my thighs may hang over the boots themselves! There is NOTHING sexy about overhang! Also I can't help but think of Julia Roberts in "Pretty Women", standing on that corner... lets face it second to maybe clear heels nothing says Working Girl than thigh high boots.

You know what, maybe I'll try the thigh high socks to test the waters and see what happens after, either way I am so so undecided!!
Will keep you posted though,
Much love

Jimmy Choo hearts H&M

Jimmy Choo Gets Cheap!

I don't know where H&M are getting all their power but literally when you think that H&M can't possible pull any other major players in the world of Fashion they announce that they are planning a collaboration with the accessory royalty Jimmy Choo.

Founder and president of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon was quoted, "We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too".

I am super excited because lets face it, for now this probably THE only way that a poor, jobless student can possible afford a piece of Choo.

Much Love
